Position Last Season – 1st in NBII Eastern Group (Promoted)
Coach – Miklós Benczés
Odds – 250/1
Player to Watch – Jose Luque. Luque was a vital part of a free scoring DVTK midfield last season and he needs to continue that form into NBI. The Spaniard who was signed from Murcia in January managed 5 goals in 14 league games, and even though he’s not very quick, his trickery and superb shot makes him a threat from anywhere on the pitch. He is also incredibly dangerous from set plays and if you’re up against him, you wouldn’t want to concede a free-kick anything closer than 35 yards away.
Rising Star – Patrik Bacsa. DVTK haven’t got many youngsters in their first team squad but the 19 year old striker does look like a decent prospect. He played 8 games last season in NBII and managed to get a goal for his side. Hopefully it can be a breakout season for Bacsa and he can prove to fans and pundits how good he really is.
Realistic Target – I really see DVTK struggling this season, and even though they won their last 14 games of last season in NBII, the gap between the top tier and second tier of Hungarian football is enormous. Obviously this is a problem for the league, as it very rare that you see both promoted sides avoid relegation, and I can’t see that happening this season. DVTK haven’t really strengthened their side significantly this summer, but are interested in Hungarian international Tibor Tisza which will be a superb signing if they were to get him. However, with the passionate fans that DVTK have, maybe they could produce something special and stay afloat this season.
Prediction – 13th
