Position Last Season – 10th
Coach – Tomislav Sivić
Odds – 18/1
Player To Watch – Foxi. The Central African Republic international looked set to move to Hajduk Split this summer, but at the last minute the Croatian club pulled out of the deal, leaving the African in limbo over his future. Now two weeks later, it seems that Foxi will stay at KTE and how important will that be for their upcoming campaign? Foxi was instrumental in KTE’s cup success last season, topping the year off by scoring a hat-trick in the final vs Videoton to give Kecskemét their first ever major honour. He also chipped in with many a goal in the league which hauled the high scoring KTE to 10th in the league.
Rising Star – Lajos Bertus. The 20 year old striker was given plenty of opportunities last season for the Magyar Kupa winners but never really made the most of his chance, only scoring one goal in his 16 league appearances. More is expected of the dynamic striker this season, especially as Tököli is nearing the end of his career and needs replacing.
Realistic Target – If KTE can continue scoring at a rate they were doing so last season, and can sure up their dodgy defence, a title challenge could be on the cards, especially after showing everyone that they can beat clubs like Videoton on a regular basis. But they haven’t made any signings to improve their defence, so it looks like they may struggle again. A mid-table finish is probably on the cards.
Prediction – 10th
