Player to Watch – Daniel Bode. The midfielder / striker was prolific last season lifting Paks to their first ever runners-up medal in their history. His tricky forward play, or his dynamism in the hole was too much for the NBI defenders last year, and more of the same this season from Bode could see a big move for him next summer, and possibly another year of European football for the all-Hungarian side.
Rising Star – Attila Fiola. Fiola was superb last season for Paks, a real rock and commanding presence in the middle of a very solid Paks defence. Fiola was also called up for the Toulon Tournament in the summer where he over shone his more renowned centre back partner in Tamas Kadar, and looked unbeatable at the back winning every header and letting no-one pass. If Fiola continues to progress at this rate, a major European league beckons for the 21 year old.
Realistic Target – After overachieving massively last season, Paks will probably be content with a safe mid table finish. But if Bode can keep firing in the goals, and Paks keep their solid defence, a title challenge could be on the cards, especially as they have been able to keep their tight nit squad together.
